Our Mission

The Port Cities Rescue Mission Ministries was founded in 1984 to address the increasing needs of the homeless of the Greater Golden Triangle Community. Since our inception, the mission doors have never been locked to those in need. The Mission began as a ministry with a primary focus on the needs of homeless men. However, over the years, the Mission has revised its focus to meet today's homeless population's new and ever-challenging needs.

Our Mission is to provide food, clothing, lodging, and guidance in a Christian environment to any persons or families the facilities can accommodate. To provide a means of communication and mutual support to agencies and individuals who strive to improve homeless services. Nevertheless, to develop community awareness and bring about changes in public policies which seek to alleviate homelessness. Finally, to create a means by which the organization may establish decent, affordable housing for the homeless and needy of the Jefferson County area.
